Poem: In Measuring Goodness

Share this article:

You cannot measure goodness for a simple fact;
Its size and depth is varied every single act.
You also cannot measure influence and touch;
Because you never know how little or how much.

Another point is evident, and must be heard;
True goodness is conferred without credit inferred.
The “see what I have done” is not a factor then;
You’ll find it is not welcomed time and time again.

True goodness is not measured, but is recognized;
And that, in any social grouping, aptly prized.
It also makes for reputation, one to own;
That’s something to be proud of–yours alone!
