The release of a butterfly that had just emerged from its cocoon is an appropriate way to honor the life of the late Fran Caffee at Fox Valley Park District’s Blackberry Farm Sunday. A Burr Oak tree was planted on Caffee’s memory and it should live for 300 years. Its crown should span 80 feet. The late Fran Caffee was founder of the Valley of the Fox Sierra Club and Water Sentinels. The tree was planted 40 feet from another tree planted in the memory of her late husband, Tom, who drove the train at Blackberry Farm, where he worked.
