I am proud to announce that I am endorsing Democrat Mavis Bates for Kane County Board District 4.
Over the Summer, I began my campaign for County Board because the residents of our District deserved better communication, transparency, and representation from our County Board member. I felt that the needs of our District were not being served. During the campaign, I had the opportunity to meet Mavis and discuss my concerns, as well as those from the residents with whom I have spoken. I was impressed by Mavis’ knowledge of the needs of our District and the commitment she has shown by knocking on more than 1,000 doors in just a few weeks.
Mavis is a health-care provider and small business owner whose long history of serving our community and advocacy make her the most qualified candidate to serve on the County Board.
As founder of Aurora’s Greenfest, Mavis is a leader in sustainability and renewable energy and will help the County save money and help the environment. As a proud union member, she will fight for good-paying jobs, equal pay, and quality health-care for employees in Kane County. She is concerned about high property taxes and will fight to bring more resources to Aurora.
Mavis will be a strong and independent voice on the County Board. She is a proven community leader who will help bring honesty, integrity, and transparency back to county government. We need a new voice on the County Board who will stand up for us, not special interests.
