Pets can be brought to the annual Kane County Animal Control Rabies and Microchip Animal Clinic from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 27 at 4060 Keslinger Road in Geneva. The clinic will be conducted drive-thru style. Dog and cat owners can pull up in their vehicles and let the staff members and volunteers do the work. Please wear a mask so everyone remains safe and protected.

The cost of a one-year rabies vaccine (with tag) is $20 for neutered pets, $35 for non-neutered and $10 for seniors with pets. Microchip ID tags are available for $15. Cash, check, VISA and MasterCard are accepted.

The clinic will run with two teams, each consisting of a doctor and kennel workers, plus clerks to process paperwork and finances. The kennel workers will put the pet on a leash and transport it to the exam station. While the medical crew performs the exam and vaccinations, a clerk completes the rabies certificate and another handles payment. Once the procedure is completed, the vet will communicate with the owner in the car. After each vehicle pulls away, the staff members will clean the station for the next client.

Animal control staff members maintain proper infection control by wearing masks, gloves and scrub tops. Their goal is to help treat the animals in need and still provide a much-needed resource during these complicated times.
