The Kane County Office of Emergency Management is asking residents and businesses that experienced uninsured property damage during the severe storms that impacted the County July 2–4, to complete a storm damage self-assessment survey.
The information collected will help local and state officials assess the extent of the damage and determine whether the region may qualify for state or federal disaster assistance.
“This survey provides valuable information that helps emergency management officials assess the overall impact of the storms on our communities,” said Kane County Office of Emergency management director Scott Buziecki. “We encourage anyone who experienced uninsured storm-related property damage to take a few minutes to complete the assessment.”
Residents and business owners whose homes, businesses, or other property sustained uninsured storm-related damage are encouraged to complete the online survey as soon as possible at https://tinyurl.com/5n8wf7cj
Submitting a damage report does not guarantee state or federal disaster assistance, but the information is critical in determining whether assistance may be available.
Individuals are also encouraged to document all storm damage by taking photographs and keeping receipts for cleanup, temporary repairs and other storm-related expenses.
