Kane County Sheriff Ron Hain and Daryl Pass of New Beginnings Recovery Mission share information with members of the Rotary Club of Aurora, Monday, at the Club’s meeting at the Roundhouse in Aurora. They have been working to address the need for sober living facilities throughout Kane County and addressing addiction in the correctional facilities. Pass founded New Beginnings Recovery Mission in 2017 which has two locations in Elgin. He said he is a testimony to what a structured program can provide and works with 12 step groups across the northwest suburbs of Chicago. He works with individuals coming out of treatment and prison with 12-step connections. Having used alcohol for more than 30 years and heroin for 23 years, he stands seven years clean from substance abuse as a mentor and leader in the recovery field. He said Aurora needs an effective recovery facility. He works to shed light towards a path of recovery for those who seek to join the journey.
