North Aurora Village Trustees approved a .02% maintenance tax levy 4-1 with a dissenting vote by trustee Laura Curtis. She said she is a proponent of not increasing the tax this year and thinks the Village could wait until next year. The levy is for Messenger Library for the fiscal year beginning June 1, 2019 – May 31, 2020, by the Library’s corporate authority for the maintenance, repairs, and alterations of library buildings and equipment.
Trustees unanimously approved a 2020 Road and Watermain Program Engineering Services agreement to Engineering Enterprises Incorporated (EEI) in the amount of $247,866. The Village received 11 responses to their Request for Qualifications. Three were selected to participate in interviews. The firms were selected based on the firms experience with similar projects, the experience of the project teams, and the professionalism and innovative ideas for delivering a successful project. After reviewing the firms’ qualifications and their performance in the interviews, Village staff members recommended EEI. They have an extensive amount of experience with municipal clients in this area.
