Kane County residents can shred documents with sensitive information from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 26 at 540 S. Randall Road, St. Charles. Accepted items include: Tax records, medical records, bank statements, or anything with a social security number on it. Regular paper reclining and items with plastic will not be accepted. Residents can bring up to four banker boxes (12”width x 16”depth x 10”height). Staples, paperclips, spiral bindings, file folders without metal, and envelope windows are fine to leave in. Please REMOVE all binder clips, three-ring plastic binders and any larger metal pieces. Note: Do not put shredded paper in a curbside recycling bin. It creates a major problem at sorting facilities.
