Kelly Rhodes of Aurora is the newest devotee of food justice to join the leadership team of The Just Food Initiative of the Fox Valley.
Rhodes comes with more than two decades of experience in the corporate travel industry. Working for a Fortune 100 company, she planned events on a global scale, traveled extensively and enjoyed learning about, and experiencing, many different cultures.
Rhodes left this expansive world to spend more time with her family, get back to basics in the kitchen, enjoy her dogs, and rediscover her love for tennis. She still delights in traveling, and now has additional time for gardening, camping, and an assortment of other outdoor activities.
“The challenges of COVID,” said Rhodes, “helped all of us learn what essential means. I aspired to do something essential and to contribute to raising awareness in our community about obtaining and consuming real foods. A desire for living better drew me to applying at The Just Food Initiative. (JPI)”
JFI welcomes Rhodes as its new coordinator of operational support and appreciates the wide range of skills and knowledge she brings to JFI leadership. In addition, Rhodes already understands food justice.
The Just Food Initiative of the Fox Valley is a nonprofit organization based in Batavia that empowers individuals to be aware of how Americans are being manipulated and even sickened by the giant corporations that produce the Nation’s food. It then then offers alternatives to transform lifestyles and health.
