The restaurant closed in January after the death of owner, Steve Hernandez.

A post signed by the Hernandez Family read, “It is with mixed emotions that we formally announce the closure of our family restaurant after 50 years of serving the city of Aurora and its surrounding communities. We feel honored to have been a part of your lives and we are deeply grateful for the loyalty and support you have shown us throughout the years.

“Making the decision to close our restaurant was not easy, but we feel it is the right one for our family at this time. We want to express our heartfelt appreciation for our dedicated staff who have been with us through thick and thin, and who have helped create an atmosphere of warmth and hospitality that our customers have come to love.

“We have decided to put the property up for sale, as we are no longer able to keep the business moving forward.

“Thank you again for your patronage and for making the past 50 years so special for us. We will cherish the memories and the friendships we have made,” the post read.
