As U.S. Census Bureau field operations come to an end, Aurora residents can still complete the 2026 Special Census by calling 630-256-6680.
During the 2020 Census, it was reported that the City of Aurora lost approximately 17,000 people. The reported loss in population has led to the City losing over $4.3 million per year in revenue, greatly affecting day-to-day operations and services provided.
If the City chose to wait until the 2030 Census to recount the population, the loss of revenue would total $43 million. Through this new count, the City expects to increase its population total, and help fund key day-to-day operations and services provided to residents.
Responses to the Census are safe, secure, and confidential.
Call 630-256-6680, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday through Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m..
