Host and author Dr. Robert Renteria, standing, and panel members, above, listen to those in attendance, approximately 60, at Saturday’s listening session at the One E. Benton Street, the former Aurora Public Library building. The focal point was on Renteria’s book, From the Barrio to the Board Room, a central theme on how to assist would-be gang members and individuals who need helping hands and someone to listen to them. Residents in the Fox Valley area were encouraged to share their stories of how mentors have helped change their lives.
