Little Pops NY Pizzeria Express, draws a large crowd at its opening day in Aurora, August 11, with free slices of pizza from noon to 2 p.m.. More than 300 slices were served in the first hour. Owner, Mike Nelson, top, left photo, serves water to pizza patrons at its newest location at the southeast corner of New York Street and Eola Road. Owners Mike and Vicki Nelson both grew up 65-miles north of New York City and are passionate about New York pizza and old school Italian flavors. Needing a career change in 2014 during difficult times, they took a leap of faith and opened Little Pops in Naperville, named after Vicki’s “shorter” grandfather. With help from family members, including Louis and his son, Steven, who own Little Pops Pizza in Maybrook, N.Y., they share the family traditions and recipes handed down with the community.Jason Crane/The Voice
