Loaves & Fishes receives honor for The Promise Pantry

Loaves & Fishes was recently honored to receive an award and be recognized as a RUSH Copley Medical Center Community Health Equity Partner.

Since May 2022, Loaves & Fishes has collaborated with RUSH Copley Medical Center to help support their Promise Pantry. The Promise Pantry is an initiative led by RUSH Copley’s Food Insecurity Committee that provides access to pre-packed bags of non-perishable food to patients who are experiencing food insecurity. Each week Loaves & Fishes prepares and delivers bags of food to eight locations across the hospital campus that includes their cancer center, pediatrics offices, diabetes center, outpatient rehabilitation center, and the main hospital.

To date, Loaves & Fishes has delivered 1,583 bags of groceries to The Promise Pantry. In addition to food, resources and Loaves & Fishes program information and provided additional support to patients in need.

  • Loaves & Fishes Community Services is celebrating the naming of its flagship Naperville building as the Frank J. Rus & Donald S. Toy Food Market & Resource Center in response to a generous gift from the Frank J. Rus & Donald S. Toy Giving Fund.

“I am happy to give a gift that makes such a difference in the lives of others and also honors Frank,” said Don Toy. “I know he would be very pleased to be able to help so many people.”
