Loaves & Fishes Community Services and The Compass Church in Bolingbrook have been working together to bring healthy food to the community for the past five years. In 2018, Loaves & Fishes set out to address the significant unmet need in Bolingbrook, where many nearby residents lacked reliable transportation for access to food. Loaves & Fishes and The Compass Church developed a program for food distributions. On the first day of food distribution, the mobile pantry served 105 persons. Over the course of the past five years, Loaves & Fishes and The Compass Church have served 73,000 residents of Will County at the Bolingbrook location.
“We are dedicated to providing healthy food and impactful programming by bringing it directly to communities with a significant unmet need,” said Mike Havala, president & CEO of Loaves & Fishes Community Services. “We are grateful to the staff and volunteer team of the Compass Church for making this a reality.”
