Maddie’s Mitten March’s grant helps with repairs

Through a generous grant from the Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley, Maddie’s Mitten March makes critical repairs to the buses that distribute cold weather clothing to those is need.

“We are very grateful to the Community Foundation for this grant,” said Madeline Bozik, president of Maddie’s Mitten March. “If it wasn’t for the Community Foundation I am not sure if we would have been able to conduct mobile distributions this year.”

Maddie’s Mitten March utilizes retired school buses to distribute Winter clothing throughout the Fox River Valley. The $8,000 grant from the Community Foundation will be used to make repairs to the existing 18-year old bus. The remaining funds will be used to paint and convert a second retired school bus.

Maddie’s Mitten March is 501c3 non-profit organization whose mission is to provide Winter clothing to those in need. She is 19 years old and a sophomore at Illinois Central College where she studies nursing.
