The Oswego Senior Center, 156 E. Washington Street, Oswego, will be host to many events for seniors. All events will take place at the Oswego Senior Center unless otherwise noted.

• “Medicare Updates about Physical Therapy”, Tuesday, Feb. 25, 11 a.m..

Medicare has changed the guidelines for physical and occupational therapy. Learn when and how you qualify at the Oswego senior Center. Presented by Athletico Physical Therapy. Sign up in person or call 630-554-5602.

• History through Biographies, Wednesdays, 10:15 a.m. to 11:30 a.m..

Mike Adolph, a retired history teacher, moderates a lively discussion as participants explore history by presenting biographies they’ve chosen from a list of more than 200 Americans, such as Teddy Roosevelt, Gary Kildall, Calamity Jane, and Jim Thorpe, or members may suggest others.

• Heart & Bones Fitness Class

Participants may join this free, engaging, fun fitness class any time for cardio, resistance and strength training. Balance, coordination, flexibility, agility and energy may be improved! All exercises can be modified to accommodate injuries or specific needs. Wear comfortable clothes and gym shoes. Join us any day: Monday 9 a.m, and a second class Monday 10 a.m., Tuesday 10 a.m., Wednesday 10 a.m., Thursday 10:45 a.m. and Friday 11:15 a.m.. Instructors: Gabriel Davila, ACE certified trainer, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Beth Peshia, OSC health & wellness coordinator, Wednesday and Friday.

• Gentle Yoga

Yoga can be a great way to exercise the aging body. Instructor Neeta Mohanty will lead a gentle yoga class, Tuesdays 11 a.m. to noon and Fridays 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.. Neeta will help modify positions for comfort and concerns. Join the class at any time. Class fee is $3. Call 630-554-5602 for more information.

• Tai Chi

Tai chi is a slow moving, fluid, exercise that helps with balance, coordination, movement, agility and mindfulness. This style of exercise is particularly good for those suffering from arthritis or joint stiffness. Mondays 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. and Fridays 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.. Join the class at any time. • Pickle Ball, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, 9 a.m. to noon.

Pickle Ball is a low-impact sport, that is easy to get the hang of for anyone who has played a racquet sport. It can be fairly fast-paced with a court half the size of a tennis court. We invite all interested participants, age 60 or better, to join us at the Oswego Senior Center gym. Experienced players will be on hand to help beginners! Be sure to wear comfortable gym shoes and easy to move-in clothing. Drop by any day and see how it all works.

• Tuesday, Feb. 25, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m..

We invite seniors age 60 or more to celebrate “Fat Tuesday” at Oswego Senior Center. Right at Home, in Home Care Assistance and Astra Health are sponsoring build your own sundae and musical bingo with prizes Tuesday, Feb. 25, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.. Seats will need to be reserved for the free, fun afternoon. Call 630-554-5602 by February 21. Seating is limited!

• Oswego Senior Center Congregate Meal Program.

The Oswego Senior Center offers congregate lunch to seniors (age 60 plus) Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday each week at noon. Reservations are required by 10 a.m. the business day prior to lunch. Suggested $5 donation.

Monday, Feb. 24: Baked chicken breast, sauteed spinach, roasted potatoes, cornbread, and chocolate chip cookies

Wednesday, Feb. 26: Country fried steak with country gravy, mashed potatoes, steamed veggie medley, and peach cobbler.

Thursday, Feb. 27: Smothered pork chops, wild rice, mixed veggies, garden salad, rolls, and banana pudding.
