The Village of Montgomery will be host to its 14th annual 5K and 10K River Run at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5. The Montgomery 5K and 10K River Run are USA Track and Field certified with computerized race results provided by J3 Timing, Inc.. The race will start and finish at Village Hall, 200 North River Street Montgomery. Race day registration will begin at 7:30 a.m..
The race will take place along the scenic Fox River through beautiful landscaped parks and residential areas. Awards will be given to the first two male and female finishers in the age categories of: 12 and under, 13-19, 20-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, 61-70, 71+, as well as overall male and female winners for both races. All entrants will receive a River Run long sleeve dri-fit shirt and goodie bag. Awards will be presented at approximately 10:30 a.m..
There will be several area vendors set-up prior to and after the race for participants and their families to visit. Chiro One Wellness Center, Canine Physical Rehab, Fox Valley Credit Union, Heartland Bank and Trust, Rush Copley Healthplex. Rondi’s S.E.L.F. Fitness will present to lead in warm-ups and stretches prior to the race.
Pre-race registration fees are as follows: 5K is $30 for adults and $10 for children; 10K is $40 for adults and $20 for children. Children under three are free for both races.
A portion of the proceeds from this event will be donated to the Montgomery VFW Post 7452, the Montgomery Rotary and Hesed House.
