Montgomery seeks trustee

Montgomery Village president Matt Brolley is seeking a qualified Village resident to serve on the Village Board as a Village trustee to fill a vacancy from May 2019 through May 2021. The Village Board is the decision-making body responsible for enacting legislation and providing direction for all areas of Village government, including finances, policies and growth and development within the Village.

Requirements for the position are as follows:

• Resided within the corporate limits of the Village for at least one year.

• Attend two Village Board meetings each month. Meetings are typically held at 7 p.m. on the second and fourth Mondays of each month.

• Attend Committee of the Whole, Intergovernmental and other meetings as needed. A complete list of regularly-scheduled meetings can be found on the Village website at www.ci.montgomery.il.us.

Brolley estimated trustees spend eight to 10 hours per month attending meetings in addition to time spent speaking with residents and staff members to review meeting materials and assisting at Village events.
