Members of the League of Women Voters of Illinois, above, receive honors at the Montgomery Village Board meeting Monday for the 100th anniversary of the group. Montgomery Village president Matt Brolley is third from right. Approved was an Intergovernmental Agreement with the Village of Oswego and United City of Yorkville to retain a lobbyist. Mutual interest the lobbyist would work on includes the Metra extension and the future water supply. The Village would be able to utilize the lobbyist’s services for non-shared service items. The Village would be responsible for a monthly fee of $2,333. Discussion included fees for homes in unincorporated areas to possibly tap into Montgomery’s water supply. Riyad Qattum expresses interest in approval of a Special Use for Motor Vehicle Services permit in the parking lot of 1335 Douglas Avenue at the Montgomery Village Board meeting Monday. He is proposing to utilize office space in the existing Family Panty unit of the 1335 Douglas Avenue multi-tenant building and up to five parking spaces to sell vehicles online and show vehicles and finalize transactions. The Secretary of State requires automotive sales to have a commercial address unless you are selling a personal vehicle. The Village of Montgomery Plan Commission approved the permit 5-1. The Village Board will consider the permit at a future meeting. Jason Crane/The Voice
