Veteran of the Month is taking a break in September and will return in October. Instead, here is information on Naperville Responds For Veterans.

Naperville Responds For Veterans (NRFV) assists veterans and their families in need, especially those with low- and moderate-income, by raising donations of money, building materials, and professional labor, and coordinating the process of repairing, building, and donating homes.

Naperville Responds For Veterans is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization that provides services to veterans in need and those in crises.

There are five individuals I know in the Aurora and Montgomery area who have received help from NRFV. The following is information on the help given to individuals and reflects the extraordinary service provided by NRFV.

Art received a full concrete driveway.

Jim received a water heater.

John received a new roof, windows, front door, entrance sidewalk, bathroom and stairways brought into compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act(ADA) standards, and his house treated for termites.

Mike received a garage door, two ceiling fans, three bathrooms brought into compliance with ADA standards, a bathtub, and is scheduled to receive a replacement back deck on his house.

John received a full concrete driveway and patio, a new furnace and central air conditioning unit, and is scheduled to receive concrete front stairs and entrance walkway.

Being one of these individuals receiving help, I can speak from first hand experience. Once my veteran status and income information were verified, I was contacted by a contractor performing the work and within a week the work was completed.

I cannot say enough good things about NRFV and the service the individuals provide to the veterans. They actively seek veterans in need so they can utilize the donation money they have received. Information is available on the Naperville Responds For Veterans website: nrfov.org.
