Naperville to ban commercial sales of assault rifles

In an open forum, contributions were for and against an ordinance amending Title 3 of the Naperville Municipal Code to prohibit the local commercial sale of assault rifles. There’s an exception for active law enforcement officers and military agencies. Naperville City Council voted 8-1 to approve the ban. Councilman Paul Hinterlong was the only dissenting vote in the meeting that ended at 1:20 a.m. Wednesday. City of Naperville government website video screenshot
