National Night Out, an annual community-building campaign to promote police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie, will take place Tuesday, Aug. 4 across the Nation.
Below are a few select communities with events.
Batavia
The Batavia Police Department will host an event from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, at the Peg Bond Center, 151 N. Island Ave.. The free, family-friendly event will celebrate community partnerships and neighborhood safety with police vehicles and equipment, activities for kids, and opportunities to meet Batavia police officers and connect with neighbors.
Geneva
The Geneva Police Department invites residents to an evening of fun and community connection Tuesday, Aug. 4, at Geneva Middle School South, 1415 Viking Drive, to celebrate National Night Out. Event highlights will include getting an up-close look at emergency vehicles, dunk tank, children’s activities, visits with Tommy The Comfort Dog, tech demonstration, music, food, and giveaways while supplies last.
Montgomery
The Montgomery Police Department will visit seven locations throughout the community Tuesday, Aug. 4, starting at 6 p.m.. Residents are welcome to join the officers to view police cars and fire trucks, participate in activities, and more!
Naperville
Naperville’s National Night Out festivities will start a day early, at 6:30 p.m., Monday, Aug. 3, with a free community celebration at the Fry Family YMCA, 2120 95th St., Naperville. The event will feature games, activities, entertainment, a movie, and an opportunity to interact with police personnel and equipment. Food will be available for purchase from food trucks.
Tuesday, Aug. 4 Naperville will have gatherings in 36 neighborhoods throughout the community between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. with cool vehicles and equipment to show off, giveaways, and information for families. A list of participating neighborhoods is available at www.naperville.il.us/nno.
Oswego
The Oswego Police Department will be at Prairie Point Park, 4120 Plainfield Road, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4.
The Oswegoland Park District will have frozen treats, games, at the Splash Pad.
