Play for Pride: A Games & Trivia Fundraiser
The fundraiser for Aurora Pride will feature tabletop games, bingo, and trivia. Guests may bring their favorite board games or play some of the games provided by organizers. Several rounds of bingo will be offered throughout the afternoon. There will be a trivia competition during the second half of the event. All ages are welcome, Ballydoyle, 28 W. New York Street. Guests can make a $5 donation for three rounds of bingo. The entry donation for the trivia contest is $20 for a team of up to four persons. All proceeds from the event will go toward the 2020 Aurora Pride Parade which will be Sunday, June 14 at noon. PechaKucha means chit-chat in Japanese. PechaKucha 20×20 is a simple presentation format where you show 20 images (slides), each for 20 seconds, a total of only six minutes, 40 seconds. Habitat for Humanity 2nd annual Trivia Night Fund Raiser
The Oswego Presbyterian Church, 1976 Route 25, will hold a second annual trivia night fund raiser to benefit Montgomery-based Fox Valley Habitat for Humanity. The public is invited. Parking is free. The Oswego Cultural Arts Commission celebrates women in the arts with the return of LUNAFEST, a fundraising film festival of shorts by and about women. This year’s films cover topics such as identity, aging, life changes and breaking through gender barriers. Films featured at LUNAFEST are not rated, however, organizers suggest that this year’s lineup will be most suited to viewers ages 14 and up. Waubonsee Community College Lions Club will sponsor Lions Night, a food and fundraiser, at WCC Chiefs’ basketball games. The event will benefit Sugar Grove Between Friends food pantry. WCC will be host to Elgin Community College for a women’s game at 5:15 p.m. and a men’s game at 7:15 p.m. in Erickson Gymnasium at the Sugar Grove campus, Route. 47 at Waubonsee Drive. Attendees who bring a nonperishable food donation will be admitted free to the games. WCC Lions will collect donations for the pantry between games.
