For many parents, the issue of preparing for college can be daunting. When you watch them toddle off to kindergarten, you may find yourself wondering, “is it too soon to think about college?” Well, kindergarten may be a little bit early, but for parents of middle-schoolers, the Aurora Public Library District (APLD) will be host to a workshop on college prep.

This workshop will take place through Zoom from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 20. Participants can register for this event by visiting the Events page on the Aurora Public Library District’s website, www.aurorapubliclibrary.org/events.

It will be an interactive workshop featuring an expert presenter from My College Planning Team to answer any questions you may have. The workshop will emphasize the importance of getting a jump-start on college planning and introduce financial aid options available for early planners. The earlier start you get, the more prepared you’ll be! It will cover mistakes to avoid when saving for college and recommend college-planning resources for families.

My College Planning Team works with families throughout the Chicago area and nationwide to tackle college planning from both an academic and financial perspective, by helping reduce costs at each student’s best-fit college. All of their workshops are offered at no cost.
