A helicopter drops candy-filled eggs in Faith Lutheran’s ninth annual event, April 20 in Aurora near the intersection of Eola Road and ‪Liberty Street‬. The crowd was so large that even with no more than 10 to a child, the supply of 15,000 was exhausted.

The idea for the egg drop came from an accident in 2008 when the occupants of an emergency medical helicopter died in a crash near the church property.

Faith Lutheran Church was host to a memorial service and representatives from the company, Air Angels asked if there was anything they could do in return. Pastor Rob Douglas asked if the company would perform an egg drop and the company agreed to provide a helicopter for three years. The annual tradition continues.
