Nominations are being accepted for the “2019 African-American Leader of the Year Award” that will be presented by Aurora’s African-American Heritage Advisory Board (AAHAB) during the 15th Annual Heritage Dinner on Friday, Feb. 22, 2019.
The annual award is bestowed upon a community African-American each year who has demonstrated consistent leadership in and committed service to Aurora’s African-American individuals and the City at large. Previous award recipients include: Judge Keith Brown, Henry Cowherd, Donnell Collins, Dr. Darrell Echols, alderman Scheketa Hart-Burns, Sherman Jenkins, Cynthia Latimer, Clayton Muhammad, Archie Needham, Lillian Perry, Anthony Stanford, Keith Cross, and Tom Boatright.
Nominations must be completed online at www.aurora-il.org/AAHAB by Friday, Jan. 4, 2019.
