The Ten Commandments for 21st-Century America:
“I am The Donald thy President, which have brought thee out of the land of liberalism, out of the house of Obama.
“Thou shalt have no other President but me.
“Thou shalt not make any graven image or any likeness of anything, unless it be mine.
“Thou shalt not bow down thyself, nor serve, anyone but me:
“For I The Donald thy President am a jealous President, visiting the iniquities of the liberals upon their tribe unto the third and fourth generations of them that hate me.
“And showing mercy unto the millions and millions that love me and follow my tweets.
“Thou shalt not take the name of The Donald thy President in vain, for The Donald will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
“Remember the Election Day of 2016, to keep it holy.
“Each day shalt thou labor on my behalf.
“For The Donald thy President made America great again and rests not in elevating it above all the nations of the earth.
“Honor the President that thy days may be long upon the land which The Donald thy President giveth thee.
“Thou shalt not kill, unless it be an illegal immigrant or a congresswoman of color.
“Thou shalt not believe those who accuse me of sexual assault.
“Thou shalt not steal, unless it be from the least of thee.
“Thou shalt not listen to fake news nor the false witness of liberals.
“Thou shalt not covet my tax returns, nor those of my children.”
And let us not forget the President’s prayer:
“Our Donald who art in Washington, hallowed be thy name.
“Thy presidency-for-life come. Thy will be done in all the earth, as it is in America.
“Give us this day our daily tweets.
“And forgive us our doubts in thee, as we curse thy enemies.
“And lead us into greatness and deliver us from liberalism. For thine is the presidency-for-life, and the power, and the glory, forever.
“Heil.”
Just when we thought that The Donald thy president couldn’t be more surrealistic, he discovered new depths to plumb. He has demanded that the “Squad” apologize to America for the “terrible” things they allegedly have said about it.
It is he, however, who should apologize for bringing America into disrepute. Sadly, apologize is not in his dictionary.
One can argue whether he is a racist or simply a bigot. One would be splitting hairs here. What our accidental president is, is what he has demonstrated time and again by his day-to-day behavior: Egotist, narcissist, misogynist, pompous blowhard, and pathological liar.
More often, his rallies invoke images of similar rallies in 1930s Germany. Then, the national leader railed against Jews; now, the national leader rails against congresswomen of color. In both instances, the national leaders told their cheering crowds what they wanted to hear; they incited their loyal followers into saying and doing things no human normally would have done otherwise. They whipped up the faithful into orgiastic frenzies and basked in the afterglow.
It will get worse so long as The Donald thy president remains on the world stage.
