Rev. Steve Good, pastor at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Oswego, was honored at a retirement luncheon Wednesday, July 15.
Good Shepherd United Methodist Men held the event at Taco Dale Cantina in Oswego. After 39 years as an ordained United Methodist minister, including 10 years as pastor of Good Shepherd UMC, Rev. Good will retire.
Sunday Sept. 27, at 9 a.m., he will deliver his final sermon at Good Shepherd. A retirement reception will follow in Fellowship Hall. The usual two Sunday worship services will be combined that day
Rev. Good grew up in Westmont and Downers Grove.
After being ordained in 1987, he was appointed to Geneva UMC. He served as a pastor at First UMC Elgin, Sugar Grove UMC,and Channahon UMC before coming to Oswego in 2016.
The public is invited to the Sunday, Sept. 27 worship service and reception at the church, 5 W. Washington St. in Oswego.
