Oswego Senior Center promotes Southern Holiday

The Oswego Senior Center, 156 E. Washington Street, Oswego, will be host to many events for seniors in the future, however, has suspended all group activities.

The Illinois Department on Aging is requesting all area agencies on aging to immediately suspend all gathering activities which places our older adults at heightened risk, including congregate meals and social activities conducted in group settings. The suspension of activities is in response to governor JB Pritzker declared state of emergency over the COVID-19. As of March 12, Oswego Senior Center suspended the congregate meal program, group activities and classes until further notice. Please be advised that new information will be released when available. • Southern Charm Holiday, December 6-12.

The Oswego Senior travelers will have the experience for the seven day/ six night tour through Charleston, S.C. and Savannah, Ga. and Jekyll Island. Participants can revel in the holiday hospitality of America’s southeast and come to know its rich history and traditions on this scenic and festive tour. Your choice. Stroll through Charleston’s historic center with a local guide, or set out on a guided panoramic coach tour. There are lots of historic places to visit. Then on to South Carolina’s Low Country to historic Savannah with a holiday-themed trolley tour. The tour ends in beautiful Jekyll Island. Price includes roundtrip airfare from O’Hare: $2,799 per person double occupancy, $3,499 single.
