Oswego traffic congestion expected

Oswego Police Department reminds the public to expect increased traffic congestion and delays in Oswego Friday, Dec. 6 due to the Christmas Walk activities. Motorists should expect delays in particular when travelling on U.S. Route 34 through the downtown area between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m.. Delays on Madison Street and Washington Street near downtown are expected.

Motorists may want to consider alternate routes around these areas if they are not attending the activities.

There will be a large number of temporary no parking signs placed on the residential streets in the downtown area. They will be in effect for Friday. By requirement of the special event permit, signage needs to be in place 24 hours in advance of the date/time it goes into effect. Signage will be limited to parking on one side.
