DuPage County Toys for Tots program representatives visited the Naperville Park District Thursday, April 27, to present the Park Police with a plaque recognizing their efforts and the generosity of the community in the 2022 Toys for Tots campaign. Campaign coordinator Diane Busman and Corporal Charles Bruser/USMC, retired, congratulated the Park Police and the Naperville community for providing 1,609 toys, 65 books and 760 stocking stuffers for children in need in DuPage County. Overall, the Toys for Tots DuPage campaign collected 84,000 toys for more than 44,000 children. The Park Police have been collecting toys for the DuPage campaign since 2010.
“Honestly, it was your spirit and smiles that energized us so much,” said Diane Busman. “Usually, at least once a week…and more often as the campaign was closing out, you and a partner brought in volumes of toy bags and treasures. It was so heartwarming when you delivered the 20 Radio Flyer tricycles with bells to our toy collection center in Lisle. Your commitment to true community support is a role model we wish more would follow.”
