With the Christmas season upon us again, we’re hearing once more about the so-called “War on Christmas.” But one pro-life leader is offering a different take on this annual controversy. “The real War on Christmas has nothing to do with slogans on coffee cups or the words retail workers use to greet holiday shoppers,” said Eric Scheidler, executive director of the Pro-Life Action League. “Christmas is all about the joy and hope that come into the world with the birth of a child. The real War on Christmas is abortion.”
In response, Scheidler is organizing Christmas caroling tours at 100 abortion facilities across the United States.
Throughout December, pro-life carolers will visit abortion facilities to sing carols, in hopes of inspiring women seeking abortions to stop and reflect on the Christmas story.
“In the hymns and carols of Christmas, we hear about the world being transformed through the birth of a poor, humble child,” Scheidler said. “These carols call on us to make room in our hearts for the weak and vulnerable, to cast aside fear and find joy in the face of a newborn baby.”
This will be the sixth year that Scheidler and the Pro-Life Action League have coordinated pro-life Christmas caroling at abortion facilities throughout the country. The impact of these caroling tours has been profound, including women choosing to cancel abortion appointments when they heard carols like “Silent Night.”
