Homeowners are invited to receive one-on-one assistance understanding and appealing their property tax bills at an event presented by State representative Stephanie Kifowit, D-Oswego, and Naperville Township assessor Warren Dixon III at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 16 at the Aurora Public Library Eola Branch, 555 S. Eola Road, Aurora.
“Skyrocketing property taxes are making it increasingly difficult for families to afford to stay in their own homes,” said Kifowit. “As a member of the House Revenue Committee, I’m examining long-term solutions to burdensome property taxes and new ways the State can help homeowners save money. I’m also looking forward to this event with assessor Dixon to provide a step-by-step overview of the assessment process and available exemptions.”
Kifowit and Dixon will discuss the appeal process and provide information on property tax exemptions and relief programs. Attendees are encouraged to bring their most recent property tax bill and any related documentation to receive one-on-one assistance.
