The Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) has been reviewing the potential removal of dams along the Fox River to increase safety and water quality. The IDNR has concluded a multi-year study about the potential removal of the Fox River Dam in North Aurora. Though the State of Illinois owns the Fox River Dam in North Aurora, they would like to hear from our community regarding any potential removal of the Fox River Dam.
In collaboration with the IDNR, the Village of North Aurora will host a public forum Thursday, Oct. 15 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Jewel Middle School, 1501 Waterford Rd., North Aurora, to provide information from the study and gain community feedback. If you are unable to attend the meeting or have any additional questions, please call the Village at 630-897-8228.
