We need Rachel Ventura’s voice in our political system. It is rare to find hard-working, trusted elected officials who are willing to go to the mat for working families and those who do not have a voice in our political system.

As long as I have known Rachel, I have found her to be a strong voice for the voiceless. She is unafraid to challenge the institutions of power which often buys access to lawmakers, and she has the scars to prove it.

Federal, State, and local officials typically bend to their political donors and then dig into the back pockets of working people to pay for endless bailouts and corporate tax breaks at the same time that they suppress wages and ask Americans to work harder.

There is no question that we are living through a period of American history where we, as a Nation are deeply divided along political lines. It is because few politicians are willing to tackle the core issue that unites us, wealth inequality.

Both political parties would rather fight the culture war as a distraction to the class war that the wealthy have been waging for decades.

Instead of addressing the real crisis, the climate crisis, they want us focused on half-measures, pseudo-solutions, presented by the very same individuals who are ushering in the destruction of the planet for future generations.

As I look across the political landscape searching for strong leaders a few national figures emerge such as AOC, Rashida Tlaib, Cori Bush, and others. Ventura is cut from the same cloth and one day will join them.

Right now she is running for Illinois State Senate in Illinois’ 43rd District (north to Woodridge, east up to Lemont and Lockport south of Joliet, and west to Channahon and Shorewood) and she needs our support.
