Dear editor,
Time was reversed August 25 when Aurora Public Library and Foundation took guests Back to the 1980s! Music by Voyage, Pac Man, and other arcade games of the decade, great food and 1980s attire made for a memorable and fun evening.

Alarm Detection Systems, Inc. and Reuland Food Service were Title Sponsors. Their support, along with other sponsors, donors, and event attendees, netted more than $11,500 in proceeds. We are thankful.

What do we do with the money? Because of your support, we provide funds for our Kiwanis Shining Bright Early Literacy program, Light of Learning scholarships, homebound delivery, Parent’s Corners, updated technology, citizenship materials and more programs.

Your support makes a difference in lives of others. This is the greatest satisfaction of being a supporter, I think. To our donors and sponsors, thank you. For event attendees, thank you and please spread the word that the Library is where you go to learn and have fun!

Speaking of events, please mark your calendar for December 1 for the We Care Together Party and Auction. The Kiwanis Club of Aurora will receive the Lifelong Learning Inspiration Award. Event attendees will find unique and one-of-a-kind gifts, enjoy decorated trees from around the world and have the contentment of helping others.

This month, I begin my fifth year as executive director. The dedication of Aurora Public Library and Aurora Public Library Foundation

Boards of directors, staff members, and community members, continue to energize me. Thank you for being such a wonderful community.

Sincerely,
Daisy Porter-Reynolds
Executive director, Aurora Public Library
