Rosary High School Alumnae Association sponsored a drive to collect warm Winter items for the Dominican Literacy Center in Aurora. Items collected included hats, gloves, scarves, slippers, socks, and blankets. Rosary held a donation drive at home basketball games. New this year, patrons and members of the Fox Valley Festival Chorus brought donations to the chorus’ Christmas Concert held in the Rosary Auditorium December 9, 2018. Several chorus members volunteer at the Dominican Literacy Center.
The Center, just like Rosary High School, is sponsored by the Dominican Sisters of downstate Springfield. The Center’s mission is to help women learn to read, write and speak English within an atmosphere of mutual respect and dignity.
The Fox Valley Festival Chorus, under the direction of Mary Beth McCarthy, includes more than 60 members from throughout the Fox Valley. The Chorus is Chicagoland’s original community chorus, and has been providing musical entertainment in the Aurora area since 1955.
