COVID-19 has far-reaching consequences, and at this time of year, school districts are feeling the depth of changes.

Modifications and changes are creating impacts for the 20 public school districts in the survey by The Voice. The range of schools which begin Fall semester classes vary between August 12 and August 31. Four school districts will begin the school year strictly with remote learning. No school will begin strictly with classroom instructions. The majority of school districts recognize the fluid situation and reserve the right to make changes. This week schools are in the Phase 4 for no meetings of 50 or more

An increase in COVID-19 cases could revert to Phase 3 which is no more than 10 persons or more in one group. The four school districts found with remote-learning only to begin the school year: Elgin U-46, East Aurora District 131, Plano District 88, and Plainfield District 202.

• Elgin U-46 will begin classes August 24 remotely and continue until October 26 prior to examining for any changes to learning structure. U-46 is the second largest school district in the State and serves all, or portions of the following communities: Elgin, South Elgin, Bartlett, Streamwood, Hanover Park, Carol Stream, West Chicago, Wayne.

• East Aurora School District 131 will begin classes August 24 strictly online through Labor Day and make adjustments, if necessary.

• Plano District 88 will begin classes August 12, earliest among those schools in the survey, and will go through Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 7 prior to a review for situations to help the students.

• Plainfield District 202 will be online through Labor Day at the least, and moved back the starting date to August 31, the latest start to classes in the survey, from August 19. The change was made in order to ensure the purchase of laptop computers for students. The District has four high schools.

The four private schools in Aurora have recognized the possibilities of using both classroom and online situations for instructions, however, did not specify arrangements this week. The four schools and starting dates:
