• Job Seekers and Career Changers Workshop, Monday, Sept. 24, 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m..

Attendees can learn about resume basics, methods for targeting resumes to job-openings, and the use of action verbs in resume writing. Time for questions and answers will be provided. Presented by Helene Martucci Lamarre, Job Search Advisor, former college career development educator, and author. No registration needed.

• Writers’ Group, Thursdays, September 27 and October 11, 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m..

Writers can discuss their work in the Library Board Room. No registration required. Open to adults and high school students.

• Seize the Day!, Monday, Oct. 15, 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m..

Jerri Lynn Baker lives each day to its fullest, or pretty close. Five years after her 2004 cancer diagnosis, Baker stopped focusing on death and started seeking joy. Hear about and be inspired by her “Freakin 365+1” adventure in which she did something new every day for a year; and learn from her to take joy in the little things. No registration needed.

Kids events

• Independent Storytime for 3s, 4s, & 5s, Mondays: September 24 and October 1, 10:30 a.m. to 11:10 a.m., or, 1 p.m. to 1:40 p.m..

For independent three- to five year-olds, without an adult. It will feature simple stories, music, movement activities, and a simple craft. Parents must remain in the Kids’ Library during storytime. Call 630-552-2025 to register.
