The Aurora Police Department, in partnership with the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC), seized a large amount of weapons, drugs, cash, and jewelry while conducting a parole compliance check in Aurora Wednesday, Nov. 7.
Thirteen felony charges were authorized by the Kane County State’s Attorney’s office against Terrell Alvarez, 23, of the 1300 block of Solfisburg Avenue, in connection with the seizure. At approximately 7:15 a.m., members of the Aurora Police Department Special Operations Group and IDOC officials showed up at Alvarez’s home to assure he was in compliance with terms of his parole and they saw several guns and drugs in plain view. They secured a search warrant for the residence and seized the following items:
• Eight firearms (one AR-15 and seven pistols, two of which were stolen)
• Ammunition and magazines for each of the guns recovered
• 784.98 grams of Cocaine
• 234.75 grams of Heroin
• 339.13 grams of Cannabis
• 190 Ecstasy pills
• 79 Xanax pills
• Six small boxes of THC cartridges

• $6,000 cash

• Diamond pendant
• Gold necklace with diamond Jesus face
• Rectangular gold ring with multiple diamonds
• Three-tier white gold engagement ring with multiple diamonds
• Gold charm
• Gold necklace
• Two one-ounce gold coins
• Bag of 36 loose diamonds
• Drug press
• Two containers of cutting agent for drugs
• Money counter
• Vacuum sealer commonly used to pack drugs air tight
• RF Jammer which detects recording devices and blocks cell signals commonly used in drug rip-offs
Alvarez was charged with five counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and eight counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. Three of the drug charges are classified as “Super-X” felonies and call for enhanced prison time upon conviction. He was charged with a parole violation from the Department of Corrections. Alvarez, as of Wednesday, Nov. 7 was being held in the Kane County lockup in lieu of $500,000 bail.
The charges are not proof of guilt. Alvarez is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial at which it is the burden of the State to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
