A salute to the color guard. The Aurora Police Department and Aurora Fire Department host Aurora’s annual September 11 Memorial Ceremony at the Aurora Police Department, 1200 E. Indian Trail Tuesday.

Marking the 17th anniversary of the tragedies in New York City, Washington, D.C., and Pennsylvania, the ceremony included a presentation of colors and wreath-laying by the Aurora Fire and Police honor guards, with remarks from Aurora Police Chief Kristen Ziman, Aurora Fire Chief Gary Krienitz and Richard C. Irvin, Aurora mayor.

A special moment of silence was held at 8:46 a.m., the time the first plane hit the north tower of the World Trade Center. Click here to see the video.
