During Spring break 2018 children residing at the Aurora Housing Authority Eastwood Apartment Complex participated in the Spring Break Blast Week. The five-day camp, sponsored by alderwoman Scheketa Hart-Burns, provided fun activities and crafts for first through sixth graders.
At Risk Mentoring is a not-for-profit organization with a focus to encourage and facilitate community connections, by providing programs to benefit youth and families. The organization will offer a Summer camp at the Eastwood Apartment Complex.
David Smith, president of At-Risk Mentoring, stated that the six-week to eight-week Summer camp will include academics such as math, language, and science to bridge learning during the Summer break. Smith added, “And, of course, there will be fun outdoor activities. ”
