An extraordinary video which traces the history of St. Charles, was just released by the Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley.
The video, which took 10 months to produce, is divided into five sections:
A Country Town (1833-1880), Building A City (1880-1950), The Gates-Baker-Norris Era (1926-1980), Education (1835-2003) and Leisure, Recreation & Parks (1834-2017).
At the request of Tom and Cris Anderson, business and civic leaders of St. Charles, and the St. Charles History Museum, the Community Foundation agreed to produce the video for the purpose of preserving the history and traditions of the city.
Sharon Stredde, former president and CEO of the Community Foundation, researched, authored the script, and oversaw the production of the video.
Neal Ormond III, former chairman of the board of the Community Foundation, narrated the video and Adam Vandre, founder and owner of Tetragon Studios, served as the producer.
The Dunham Fund provided financial support for the project.
“We are proud to have played a role in the production of this video which will serve the citizens of St. Charles for many, many generations,” said John Diederich, chairman of the Community Foundation.
