The workshop will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16 at Plainfield Township Community Center, 15014 S. Des Plaines Street. The event will include a presentation on college costs, types of financial aid, and how to apply for financial aid. There will be a hands-on Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) portion of the program to help guide parents and students through the process. To participate, please bring a laptop and your most recent tax documents.

Representative Batinick is host to a FAFSA workshop annually to help parents and students in his district navigate the complex financial aid system.

“For those new to the FAFSA process, this workshop is a great tutorial,” said Batinick. “With the rising cost of college tuition, learning about federal student aid and how to accurately apply for it is essential. I understand that as the college application process begins, a huge factor in that decision is cost. This workshop is meant to help reduce the stress and confusion in the that process by giving you all the tools you need.”

The workshop is free and open to all residents, and the Representative encourages all to attend to take advantage of this great resource.
