Ready Player One is a critically-acclaimed movie directed by Steven Spielberg, based on the book by Ernest Cline.
Bright and lively visuals of the virtual world contrasts dramatically with the grim and bleak world of reality. The design of the outfits were stellar, and having the free range to be whatever you want is really incredible.
The story consists of a boy in the slums escaping into this virtual reality where you can play, be, and become anything and everything you’d like. The co-creator of this world passes, but leaves a three-part quest for the ownership of the game.
The Easter eggs in the movie are all around enjoyable. It’s contrasted with eggs from older games, like Battletoads, and newer ones, such as Tracer from Overwatch.
Soundtracks are what make or destroy a movie, and it definitely made this one. The playlist consists of everything from “Dancing With Myself” to “Jump”.
At the rating of PG-13, it’s a movie for the whole family. The movie is still available at select theatres such as in North Aurora for $6.25 for each ticket.
