The public is warmly invited to the second annual Indie Author Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday Nov. 16 at the Sugar Grove Public Library, 125 S. Municipal Drive in Sugar Grove.
More than 25 authors will participate with a variety of genres represented, including fiction, poetry, children’s materials, memoirs and non-fiction. Books will be available for purchase and signing, and patrons will enjoy the opportunity to connect with local authors.
Coffee and cookies will be available to patrons and authors throughout the day, and lunch will be served to participating authors. Networking opportunities will be held for authors from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. with a demonstration of new biblio tools and Inkie with round table discussions and refreshments.
There is no cost to participate, however authors will sell materials with cash or card purchases. Books that the Library will acquire will be placed in the Local Focus area in the Reading Room; Illinois history and local author materials are available for browsing and circulation as part of a project to enhance local resources and information. This area was funded by the Friends of the Library following the first Indie Author Day in 2018. Due to the success and attendance of patrons and authors, the event is being held again.
In collaboration with the Friends of the Library, fresh baked goods and other food items will be available in the Café during the event.
