Sugar Grove Library trustees take oaths

New and returning members of the Library Board of Trustees were sworn into their term of service at the Sugar Grove Public Library District May 22.

The Board of Trustees is composed of seven members who serve four-year terms in the valuable role of stewardship and governance to the Library.

Key functions of the Board include advocacy, governance, stewardship to the facility, fiscal responsibility, financial security, and oversight. Board members serve with no compensation and regularly donate time and attention to serve the needs of residents.

“Our Board members have a heart of service, are regular Library users, and bring terrific ideas to the table,” stated Shannon Halikias, Library director.

Jane Klingberg, Vivian Santos-Buch and Brad Knechtges were re-elected as trustees. Michelle Damadeo was elected as a new trustee. The Board will be seeking one additional resident of the District for an appointment to service. New officers were elected by the Board for a full year:

• President, Brad Knechtges, 2021;

• Vice president, Jane Klingberg, 2023;

• Secretary, Vivian Buch-Santos, 2023;

• Treasurer, Joy L. Stokes, 2021;

• Trustee, Pat Graceffa, 2021;

• Trustee, Michelle Damadeo, 2023.
