With temps up, Summer seems all ready to be here. I’m ready for Summer fun, and my calendar is filling up quickly with events to help me enjoy the longer days.

Here’s where I’ll be this Summer, so I thought I’d share these community events that shine the light on local musicians, artists, and food purveyors in case you want to join in on the fun.

•June 2, The Venue, 21 S. Broadway, will be celebrating its fourth birthday with a special celebration featuring three bands covering The Beatles. Local artisans and food vendors will be on hand for the ticketed event.

  • The Homestead 1854 in Plano will be host to Corks and Caps from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. every Thursday from June 1 through September 29. Each week, the idyllic event space will be host to a variety of musicians and food vendors outdoors.
  • Aurora Farmers Market will kick off June 10 in downtown Aurora. The Saturday morning gathering of farmers and market vendors at Water Street Square, 65 S. Water Street, will expand to add offerings on Water Street Mall.
  • Art History Brewing, 649 W. State Street, Geneva, will be host to its first artisan market curated and organized by the Streetz Artz Alliance from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 11.
  • The next Rosewood Market, 600 Prairie Street, will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, June 25. The newbie market is a must to add to weekend plans when it pops up. Held outdoors at a farm in Sugar Grove, the market boasts local, artisan vendors along with food vendors, cocktails, and chickens.
  • Wyckwood House, 80 S. River Street, will throw its second annual Fourth of Ju-luau party from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 1. A tropical vibe will be served up; luau attire is encouraged. The Cocktail Bar at Wyckwood House is now open later, so it’ll be a good place all Summer long.
  • Music and Market on Stolp Avenue will bring a street festival vibe with live music along with artisan and food vendors starting July 12. The event is a six-week series from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. every Wednesday on Stolp Avenue in downtown Aurora.
  • Alley Art Festival will be a nice end cap to a Summer of fun Saturday, Aug. 26. The outdoor event brings dozens of local and regional artists as well as food vendors and live music to downtown Aurora for an afternoon of pure enjoyment. The annual event is free and held from noon to 5 p.m. on Water Street Mall and Downer Place.
