Good experiences with vaccine shots

January 29, 2021Dear editor; My husband, Stan, and I went to Rush-Copley in Aurora today, for our COVID-19 vaccines and it was so easy. We wish the whole country will get vaccinations so we can get well. Our doctor signed us up January 14 with appointments to receive the vaccines...

On understanding embers in Aurora

January 23, 2021Dear editor; The last five years I spent a lot of time thinking about Aurora and trying to understand its culture. I find it very different, especially looking at surrounding cities. The governing bodies tend to be exclusive clubs, more than looking to help the needs of all...

Response: Christmas greeting serious

If Frank Patterson’s letter in the January 7 issue of The Voice, “Comment on greetings at Christmas” goes unanswered, then (commentator) Rush Limbaugh’s observation is accurate: “The general population doesn’t know what is happening and it doesn’t even know it doesn’t know.”

Vladimir Putin, president of Russia, criticized Western countries for abandoning Christian roots.

Such a statement from prominent leaders should be taken seriously. If not, our country is on a continuing route to chaos. Mr. Patterson’s opinion shows disrespect for our religious traditions....

‘Funny’ facts fill U.S. elections

Those who think there’s no election fraud must be living with blinders on due to their political biases. Let’s look at some “funny” facts.

Dominion Voting Systems, widely used in this country, was founded in 2002 by two Canadians who currently own Dominion in partnership with Staple Street Capital, a New York-based private equity firm with questionable connections which invested in Dominion in 2018. Canada is a radically liberal country. Many Canadians would love to see Republicans defeated in the U.S. Why the heck are we using election software from a country biased against conservatism? Why the heck aren’t we using American software for American elections?...

Facts, truth, stop the big lie

How do you combat a Lie? With Facts and the Truth. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris won the popular vote and the Electoral College Vote November 3, 2020.

President Donald Trump fraudulently denies their win with the big lie that he won the election by a landslide. He told his supporters over and over that he had won and that Biden was stealing it from him. He ginned up his followers to a fever pitch at his January 6 rally, then sent them to the Capitol to “take back their country”, even turning them on his vice president Mike Pence for whom they built a gallows to hang him. Five others died as a result of their insurrection....

Dark day balance: Peaceful inauguration

January 7, 2021Dear editor; January 6 was a dark day in the history of the United States of America. The activities on Capitol Hill should have been a procedural exercise to finalize the 2020 election. Indeed, our Nation’s Capitol was attacked by domestic terrorists seeking to invalidate the will of...

Defending democracy costly in D.C. January 6

January 11, 2021Dear editor; What price would you pay to defend democracy where you work? Brian Sicknick, 42-year-old-Capitol-Hill-police-officer, gave his life Wednesday, Jan. 6 to defend a sacred symbol of Democracy the U.S. Capitol building and those inside. When the pro-Donald Trump mob breached the Capitol building, he was beaten...

Endorsement of column by the Chas

December 22, 2020Dear editor; Charles Coddington’s column in the December 17 issue of The Voice, “Birth, death, miracle of Jesus, some facts examined” (https://thevoice.us/birth-death-miracle-of-jesus-some-facts-examined) certainly made my week. I wish everyone Merry Christmas and happy holidays to expand with happy Solstice. The Chas nailed the idea that Jesus the Christ...

True meaning of Christmas essential

December 21, 2020Dear editor; Speaking of Christmas, who is? It is not the media as a limited fact. Christmas has been hijacked, replaced, by happy holidays. Why? Christmas is not spelled in the plural. It is one day to honor the birth of Jesus Christ. The actual date is still...

Jesus existed: Case cited

December 18, 2021Dear editor; I often enjoy Charles Coddington’s writings, but I just had to answer his fantasies about the origins of Christianity in The Voice December 3 (https://thevoice.us/historical-context-explicated-of-evangelical-christians) and 17 (https://thevoice.us/birth-death-miracle-of-jesus-some-facts-examined). There is no evidence that Saul of Tarsus was a Zealot. I believe Chas wrote the articles to...

In defense of recent comments

December 18, 2020Dear editor; In response to Frank Patterson’s letter in the December 17 issue of The Voice (thevoice.us/objection-to-recent-readers-commentary): Mr. Patterson thinks it is “hooey” the Democratic Party has become the home of Big tech billionaires, globalists, socialists, Marxists, BLM, antifa, and main stream media. Objection to recent Reader’s Commentary

December 11, 2020Dear editor; Mr. Bela “Bill” Suhayda makes a lot of allegations in his commentary in the December 10 Reader’s Commentary of The Voice, “Democratic Party change dismantles” (thevoice.us/democratic-party-change-dismantles) but much of what he writes sounds just like something off an internet blog or a crackpot radio station. In...

Democratic Party change dismantles

By Bela “Bill” Suhayda I used to vote Democrat …so if at the end of this article, you’re thinking is “I’m some right wing kook”, you’d be wrong. Who I am is a person who would have voted for JFK (John Fitzgerald Kennedy) had I been old enough at the...

Vaccine comparisons of three players

Here is a correction to this Reader’s Voice The Moderna final phase study came up with 196 cases (not the 19 listed incorrectly) of COVID-19. One individual among the 30 severe cases did die, which was listed. Mary Goetsch wrote in the addendum that she calculated the incidence rate of...

Federal funds would help cultured meats

November 6, 2020Dear editor; As the pandemic continues to ravage the country, now is the time for senators Tammy Duckworth and Dick Durbin of Illinois to support federal funding for cultured-meat research. For those who don’t know, cultured meat is grown from cells. Because animals are removed from the process,...
